Engr. Mansoor MirzaParticipant
you can use DS 1621 Chip for more accuracy!
The DS1621 Digital Thermometer and Thermostat provides 9-bit temperature readings, which indicate the temperature of the device. The thermal alarm output, TOUT is active when the temperature of the device exceeds a user-defined temperature TH. The output remains active until the temperature drops below user defined temperature TL, allowing for any hysteresis necessary. User-defined temperature settings are stored in nonvolatile memory so parts may be programmed prior to insertion in a system. Temperature settings and temperature readings are all communicated to/from the DS1621 over a simple 2-wire serial interface.
- emperature measurements require no external components
- Measures temperatures from -55°C to +125°C in 0.5°C increments. Fahrenheit equivalent is -67°F to 257°F in 0.9°F increments
- Temperature is read as a 9-bit value (2-byte transfer)
- Wide power supply range (2.7V to 5.5V)
- Converts temperature to digital word in less than 1 second
- Thermostatic settings are user definable and nonvolatile
- Data is read from/written via a 2-wire serial interface (open drain I/O lines)
- Applications include thermostatic controls, industrial systems, consumer products, thermometers, or any thermal sensitive system
- 8-pin DIP or SO package (150mil and 208mil)
Engr. Mansoor MirzaParticipantmaking call from ear phone???
Please elaborate some more what u wanna do?
December 28, 2010 at 11:37 am in reply to: RF module wireless data transmission without encoder and decoder using 8051. #5281Engr. Mansoor MirzaParticipantinterfacing GSM with 8051 is simple u can control your robot using DTMF…..
Engr. Mansoor MirzaParticipantsee these links and circuits….
now i think you got the idea how to get automation for street lights….
now you need to program 8051 like this….
Monitor Photo diode out put if it is high then turn off the light (that is connected to any bit of any port you just have to set that bit low)
if Photo Diode’s out put is low that means it dark out now…. now turn that bit high which you set low in previous case it will turn ON the street light!!
it is simple write code for it and share here if you face any problem!!
Best of Luck!!!

what about using GSM for your Robo??
Engr. Mansoor MirzaParticipantwhich Microcontroler you are using????
did u write any code for this using PWM???
December 28, 2010 at 9:05 am in reply to: RF module wireless data transmission without encoder and decoder using 8051. #5275Engr. Mansoor MirzaParticipantThen u have to use RF encoder and decoder because u need a coded transmittion to do a specific task…
for example if you transmitt a raw signal of rf that will drive your robot in forward position…. and now if u want to drive robot in reverse position then what will you do if you have no encoder??? !!!
so you have to use encoder minimum 4-bit rf encoder that has 2^4 = 16 rf chanels you can use each chanel for each function…..
in case of robot you need four operations…
1. Move forward
2. Move Backward
3. Move Right
4. Move Left
these four can be achieved by using four bit encoder…..
Raw RF transmission is not able to achive your goal. u need a reiable communication whose each bit is under your control!!! this can be achived only by using encoders…..
Engr. Mansoor MirzaParticipantThese robots are mainly used in military or law enforcement applications.

also elaborate some more about your Project!!!!
Engr. Mansoor MirzaParticipantyou can generate DTMF signal from you PC using Visual Basic and can also generate using 8051… see this link
Engr. Mansoor MirzaParticipantflux = Blv Sin of angle.
where B is magnetic field intensity,
L is length of wire mean winding of D.C motor and angle used is the position of armature…..
and Efficiency is very much depends on flux….the more flux the more efficiency these are directly proportional with each other and in D.C motor case flux is directly proportional to applied voltage.
Engr. Mansoor MirzaParticipantdear no cell phone allows AT command interface through usb…… u have to use GSM Modem….. like sim 300dz or sim 900 dz..
Engr. Mansoor MirzaParticipantuse special DC motor to drive your robot…using 12v D.C battery….
for remote comntroll you can use simple 8051 and gsm modem and controll robot through DTMF….
see this link….
