How to perform Matlab to Microcontroller communication

Hi everybody,

 

Can anybody tell me “How to perform Matlab to Pic18f452/AT89C51 Seriall/Parallel communication or  How to perform  Pic18f452/AT89C51 to  Matlab Seriall/Parallel communication “.

 

I want to make such type of interface which will use Pic18f452/AT89C51,LCD(16×2),Serial/Parallel Port.

When i send data to microcontroller through Matlab using serial or parallel port,microcontroller should receive that data and should display it on the LCD or Vice Versa.
