    sir,

              whenever microcontroller(atmega16 & atmega8) used as input device for example:- in case of swithch programm. …it takes large input cuurrent of near about 30 mili ampere………….that is not proper practically ….practically this current is in turmes  of in micro ampere..only…all the analog ics  even takes only cuurents of in turmes of micro ampere when its use as input device  …………….what is the reason behind it?why it takes high input current?
                               please do reply fast sir……

    You are right, that is not normal. Please post your circuit diagram and code here, will try to find out the reason.
