Microcontroller › 8051 › Share UART of 8051 with different module
Can we share UART pins (Tx & Rx) directly with different module as shown in figure?
Or we have to use a latch or other mux/demux?
Which IC is used for this purpose?
I’ve seen this kind of task successfully done using Analog switch IC, like 74VHC4066
why you want to use 8051 only?
switch to AVR. it has 2 UARTs. for PC communication it has USB support.
Yes I knew that AVR has 2 UART but it it is challengeable job for me & others also.
the application you are implementing will be much more easier with AVR.
8051 has limited resources as compared to AVR
