You seem to be having a deep knowledge in electronics, electrical and hardware aswell. Now it is your chance to develop some software skills. For microcontroller beginners it is recomended to use 8051, PIC etc. But it will take a lot of time and effort to get the basics right.
If you want to finish your project quickly and easy, I recommend you to use Arduino board. You can program it with arduino IDE. You don’t have to learn the internals of the microcontroller like registers, peripherals etc. All you need to have is nothing but logic, which I hope you have plenty of it. Lot of help available in web. You can have arduino pro-mini board which will be several time smaller in size compared to any pic based PCB. Google arduino.
If your intention is to learn microcontroller, I would say dont go for it. It is good for hobbyst only. Try PIC.

May 9, 2012 at 7:16 am #7660AmrithParticipantHi Santosh,
I agree with Ajish, if you are looking only solution for your project better go with Arduino PIC or Arduino AVR boards, if you are intrested in learning embedded C programming language then start with 8051 controller.
I suggest you to go with Arduino AVR with AT MEGA 8 Controller for cheap and best solution to your project.
Regards
Amrith
