issue regarding sensor

Hi every one.
I’m trying to make a modular device for our heart pulse monitoring using 8051 micro controller for my final yr project. I want to know which would be best sensor for my project?

different heart beat sensors are readily available in market. i have not experimented with them but i suggest it would be better if you ask for such thing to any doctor or medical student. he may help you much better in this case.
