You are absolutely right, this picture might have been uploaded by mistake. The two diodes must be in opposite direction to what they are, over this link.

first of all it is not a diode. it is symbol of inverted output. means you apply high (logic 1) input you will get low (logic 0) output. it shows you can connect any load in current sinking configuration.
