Hi AJISH, my project is basically a kind of Electrical project.

I just having an optical fibre Tempreature sensor and i want to interface with the MCU.

Here one thing i don’t have any spcified MCU’s any kind of MCU okay.

I mean by ATMEL, PIC , INTEL whatever it’s and what may be the datalines 32 or 16 or 8.

    Hi KARAN,

I’m sorry for the delayed response. Please post the part number or any other details of your optical fiber temperature sensor, so that i can search for its datasheet. If you are not specific about any particular MCU, I personally recommend you to get a basic ARDUINO board. It is a nice platform for beginners, very easy to code suitable for this kind of experiments.

    Hi Karan,

Basic Microcontroller does not have direct interface to optical fiber communication. You  can use Serial(RS-232) to Optical Fiber converter which is available in the market but it is bit expensive.

Hi Ajish hope you’ll read this and sorry for the late thanks for your response to my post, still i can’t able to find the solution for this problem.

Now I’ll completely explain my problem tell me the soloution. The optical fibre sensor which is having ST type connector. The core is I’m going to interface this sensor with MCU something like ATmega16, ATmega8535 or ATmega328 whatever it is, Once I interfaced i have get those values from the sensor. Now tell me the soloution.

    Hi Karan,

Yours is an interesting project and I really want to help you, but unless I know the part number/model number of the sensor which you are using, how can I learn about the details of interfacing it? You’ve only mentioned the type of connector used in that sensor (ST type). Hundred thousand devices might be using that kind of connector.

If you don’t know the part number/model number, simply take an image of the sensor and post it here.
