    Hi,,!!

I need to interface DS12887 with AT89C51 for my project. All the codes available on the EG aren’t working fine at my end. The links are as under:

    1] http://www.engineersgarage.com/microcontroller/8051projects/interface-rtc-12c887-AT89C51-circuit

    2] http://www.engineersgarage.com/microcontroller/8051projects/digital-clock-rtc-12c887-AT89C51-circuit

    3] http://www.engineersgarage.com/microcontroller/8051projects/lcd-clock-rtc-12c887-AT89C51-update-interrupt-circuit

    4] http://www.engineersgarage.com/microcontroller/8051projects/alarm-clock-rtc-12c887-AT89C51-circuit

I am using Keil2 and Keil 4  for generating hex files and Proteus for simulating the circuit.

    a) The clock is able to initialize from the PC clock (since i am simulating it on a PC) but we can’t set the values of Registers in via set time feature as described in the EG project links.

    b) My circuit connections are all alright since the lcd is working fine. In fact when the set time key is pressed “SET TIMING ” is visible along with “00:00” on and via the remaining two buttons we can also increment them but again when pressed enter these values aren’t fed into the RTC registers.

A] Please let me know what coudl be the problem?

B] Can you please create a project in your labs about interfcaing DS1307 with AT89C51 but with time set feature? I can help you with that. I have the running code ready in C, all you need to do is customize it for time set option.

A PROMPT RESPONSE WOULD BE HEARTILY APPRECIATED.

    Thanks and Regards,

    ~Gaurav~

if things starts working in first time, you haven’t learn a bit from it.

and if won’t works be happy because that circuit is going to teach you lots of thing…

@Gaurav and anil.kp the stuff you trying will never work in first time only practise and tryial makes a human perfect… just saying the codes are not working is very easy and make it done is just opposite of it..

If we cann’t appricate the work the EG team had done.. we don’t have a right to show back on them (as being a human)…
