    Hi everyone.

Actually,i am intended to make a project which performs the following thing.

When i press a power button from universal remote control,The tubelights of my room should turn on and when i

press again, they should turn off. It is like turning on and off a tv through the universal remote control.

I will buy the universal remote control from the electronics market but what i need is described below.

Basically i just need anything that will recieve a signal from the universal remote control and turn on and off. Then i

could use that to turn on or off a relay.

Please tell me how to do this.what should i do to make such a receiver.

    Thanking you in anticipation.

basically you need a Tsop… which receives a particular frequency (IR range)… you need to understand the formate of TV remote you using and then decode it accordingly…

hi dagakshay. I hav not tried this project also.. I know a bit about this project but I dont know much on how to decode the received signal from the transmitter.. can you tell us a bit explaination?  :)

If you dont`t want to use specific code but only to turn on/of by pressing any button check this http://www.engineersgarage.com/electronic-circuits/relay-activation-using-tsop-1738. You only need scheme on the right side, the left side is IR tansmitter which you dont need. I think you shold place one Flip-Flop between transistor and TSOP which will save the currently state.

    hi usman………………

what our friends told thats may right…..

but if u just want only on r off the relay u have to use combination of  IR reciever variable resisitr nad TRANSISTOR

use above diagram . i have already use this cct.

u can use any TV remote to ON/OFF ur electrical appliances. if u want to make ur own transmitter , i have long range transmitter ..

that works for more then 30 ft . if u need i will put here that cct too.

    regards…

    hi qurais,

i really like to work with this.so can you give circuits, by which i want to send three different signals from remote. and that receiver should react according to that received signal.
