This is a circuit I have made using multisim. Can anybody plz tell me whether I can apply ttl level dc voltage to T1in pin (like +5 volt dc)

and get RS232 leveldc volatge on T1out pin. Or RS232 level dc voltage to R1in pin and get TTL level voltage for R1out pin??

If yes then please can you tell me what is wrong in the above circuit???

When I connected T1in pin of max232 to ttl high I get around -7.81V on T1out pin and 0V on R1in pin.

Are you trying to use it as voltage converter?

I am just checking whether it can convert single dc voltage or not. Thanks for replay. Can you please post your simulation circuit here??

It will be of great help. You are correct though ttl high means we should get around -3 to -25 on T2 out .

And viceversa for R1 in and R1out. Please can you spot where I am making mistake in the circuit .Please do post your circuit .It will be of great help . Thanks.

Would recommend reading the datasheet of MAX 232 as to what does it do…to understand the mistake in your concept or circuit.
