projects are always seems to be bit difficult at beggining. but as you said you are not good at programming then this project can be more difficult for you. if you want to make it simpler then i suggest go for demonstration model not actual induction cook top. try to implement limited number of features. for heating control use normal coil and control its heat by DIAC-TRIAC method (same principle that is used in fan regulator or light dimmer).
