@Qaisar: The tutorial was meant for controlling appliance over WiFi only. In case you want to control it using your phone at home, you should enable WiFi hotspot on your laptop and connect your phone to the laptop's WiFi. In case you want to control it over internet, away from your home, you need to so some extra work (google "port forwarding")
Ganesh SelvarajParticipantMicrocontroller works on TTL logic (logic high =5V) ans RS232 works with +12V …. connecting them directly will damge the system. If you have MAX232 IC on Modem and connecting through the RS232 port, then it is mandatory to have the same on other side also (on Microcontroller side).
And regarding your program, I’m not much familiar with 8051 Programming but what baud rate have you taken in this program? and did you set the same baudarate on proteus Virtual Terminal? Unexpected symbols are shown on the VT usually when there is a mismatch of baudrate.
Ganesh SelvarajParticipantWhy don’t you try Embedded C… it is easier and you get a lot code examples also online
Ganesh SelvarajParticipantPlease post your C code here so that we can suggest the necessary edits. Loooking from your problem, u have to change the delay time or add an infinite while loop in you interrupt service routine. For eg:
ISR_function()
{
<switch on alarm>;
while(1);
}
The above function will switch ON the alarm and go into and infinite loop out which the controller comes only after reset button is pressed.
Ganesh SelvarajParticipantYou can get this information from their official website and the board’s documentation
Ganesh SelvarajParticipantAnd also check if you connected everything properly… one loose contact and the LCD won’t work like we expect it to… #personal_experience
Ganesh SelvarajParticipantlooks very messy
Ganesh SelvarajParticipantThere are many tutorials regarding interfacing of gsm modem with a microcontroller in this website. GO TO EG LABS and choose the controller.
March 24, 2014 at 5:27 pm in reply to: Why does arduino shows “fingerprint sensor not found” even after connecting the fingerprint module properly? #11375Ganesh SelvarajParticipantWe need you to give us more details about this, like what type of module you are using,etc. And the code too. Then only we will be able to help.
Ganesh SelvarajParticipantTheoretically speaking you can check that by lowering the baudrate to such an extent that the time gap between each bit is greater that the persistence of vision which is 0.1 seconds. So tha baudrate needs to be lesser than 10 bits per second. But practically this is not possible I guess.

March 20, 2014 at 2:32 pm in reply to: CODE FOR ELECTRONIC NOTICE BOARD USING ZIGBEE TECHNOLOGY #11343Ganesh SelvarajParticipantHi. First decide which microcontroller you are going to use. Then refer to the tutorials and projects in this website. You have many projects related to Zigbee. Refer them and come back with your doubts.
March 18, 2014 at 4:59 pm in reply to: Problem in interfacing with pic16f877a and gsm (SIM900A) #11326Ganesh SelvarajParticipantthe problem is with your program.
unsigned char str1[4]=”ATn”;unsigned char str3[10]=”AT+CPIN?n”;unsigned char str4[16]=”ATD7418211136;n”;You need to use ‘r’ and not ‘n’ . so change that part tounsigned char str1[4]=”ATr”;unsigned char str3[10]=”AT+CPIN?r”;unsigned char str4[16]=”ATD7418211136r”;Ganesh SelvarajParticipantNice article. Lengthy one but worth reading.
Ganesh SelvarajParticipantBASCOM language I guess
