doraemonParticipantmost of adaptors(AC to DC convertor) has no voltage regulator so output voltage varies with varying current of load. So if you already have adaptor you mentioned measure output voltage if it is 5v then ok if voltage more than 5v then use 5v voltage regulator with resistor of 100ohm because 5v regulator like 7805 has max current rating of 1Amp.
doraemonParticipantyou can use separate wires instead of db9 cable. you can use it by connecting only Rx,Tx and GND. other lines of db9 are only necessary if you implemented it in your program.
doraemonParticipanti think you are trying to make circuit that can fly like a helicoptor. many factors affect to make that circuit fly. rpm of motor, weight of circuit, diameter of propeller also balancing of circuit is great problem as change in torque of motor or wind can imbalance it. it is difficult to make this type of project. some type of gyro mechanism is required to balance it. balsa is lightest wood. search for rc helicoptor motor rpm to get some idea. rpm can be increased by gear mechanism.
doraemonParticipantit can be interfaced with picaxe 08m2 using serial communication.
doraemonParticipantyou can program at89s51,52 and 8252 using usbasp for that you have to use firmware that support 8051+avr google for it and you get firmware. just burn it in atmega 8 of usbasp with proper fuse setting and your programmer is ready. Use progisp software for programming controller using usbasp.
doraemonParticipantconnect one wire to pin no 9 that is RESET pin second end of wire keep open. give circuit 5v supply then touch second end of wire to positive supply and remove. If you have a multimeter check voltage across pin no 40(Vcc) and 20(Gnd) is about 5V. Preset is one type of variable resistor that is used to adjaus contrast by changing voltage of pin no 3 of lcd. If you dont want to use preset then just ground pin no 3 of lcd. IF still your circuit dont work post picture of circuit you made.
doraemonParticipantVisit following page http://www.atmel.com/products/microcontrollers/avr/megaAVR.aspx then click on product search you can browse different device with its technical details. you can also download it by clicking on export to excel.
doraemonParticipantWhen lcd is not properly initialized it display blocks. Check connection between lcd and 8051 pins is properly done. If lcd connections are proper then check 8051 reset circuit is proper and 8051 executing instructions.
doraemonParticipantyes, you can two button cell in series. I suggest to use cell like CR2032 this cell is 3V so in series connection we get 3*2=6V so use silicon diode like 1N4007 in series(anode with positive of battery and cathode with circuit positive terminal) to get 6-0.7=5.3Volt. Button cell can not serve as long as pencil cell. ypo can calculate how many hour cell can serve by hour=mAh rating of battery/current consumption of circuit in miliampere.
