Is there any chance for doing power transfer without any wires. The distance should be 7 – 10 meters.

@Ananth: Look at Wi-Charge (www.wi-charge.com). What is the application you would like to use it for? What are power requirements?

7 to 10 meter is quite long range for transmitting power signals. may be it requires to build huge transmitter and receiver coils

As per Tesla wireless power transmssion principle, it is possible. but it is absolutely with wires (coils) and to acheive 7 to 10 meters transmitter coil need huge power.
