What if range of service providers is not available..??

The question always triggers over my mind that -What if the range of service providers (for Ex. BSNL,Airtel,. etc) are not available and you are in urgent need to communicate and suppose you are in the region where nearby there is no other way of communication than mobile ?? 

 

The idea comes with Satellite Communication but how to start finding the answer??
