    hi friends

i am confused with my project i wish some one could help with it

1st am using a ultrasonic sensor to take continuous readings from it
and that signal should be given to a micro controller and it should check for drastic change in level of fuel and send a signal to gsm module such that a msg is been sent to owner know that fuel is being theft from his vehicle
plz can u help me with the interfacing part of sensor and gsm module with micro controller
    please do reply me

    Hi Naidu,

Ofcourse we can help you. Please share the details of the sensor module, gsm module and other modules if any, with their part number. Also we would like to know about the microcontroller which you use. Post the implementation diagram and also the connection diagram if possible

    hi

    thanks for the reply

actually am using a pic 18 micro controller and the sensor is

    ULTRASONIC SENSOR

    MODEL:SA6A-L2K4S

    MADE:IDEC IZUMI CORP

when i was trying to calibrate the sensor its showing very low voltage(of range 0.05v differnce) levels for for change in fluid level in the tank is it possible to process those values

i want to the micro controller to sense drastic change in the fuel level and send an alert using gsm module

am sorry that am not having remaining details at present

    please do help me

    Hi,

Why don’t you use the digital output from the sensor? I learned from the datasheet that it can be configured for sensing an object at a particular range and produce a high or low output.

Anyway, if your ADC is 10bit and the reference voltage is 5V, then theoritically you can have a change in digital output for an increase in every 5/1024 volts. ie. almost 0.005V.
