hi
friends
i made a LED based project.i just used 8 leds to display my name
“VAMSI ECE” the leds were arranged on a high speed rotating motor(1000rpm)
follow the link
http://homemaderobo.blogspot.in/2012/03/propellerrotating-led-display.html
but the problem is i need a ir sensor that can work at high speeds to make the display stable
help me with it
April 14, 2012 at 5:55 pm #7447AJISH ALFREDParticipantSuperb..
I’ve also done a similar project upto this stage, but I haven’t proceed with stabilizing the display. Why can’t you use normal ir led and ir led sensor ? Fix the ir led in the rotating hand and the receiver led on the base, or vise versa, so that you get a pulse when both comes in a single line once in each rotation.
April 15, 2012 at 5:36 am #7452D.V.G. KrishnaParticipanti tried that one
the range of IR led is not sharp so the starting point of the display is oscillating in between a 2 inch range.and not stable at higher speed
when i used on a table fan.
so i need a sensor that is sharp and stable at higher speed

Is it possible to use a DC servo motor, gives you high speed and torque. Also you can control the angle of rotation. So like, if you know when the motor completes 360 degree rotation, then you can easily adjust your code for the stable display.
April 25, 2012 at 3:28 pm #7545D.V.G. KrishnaParticipantwe cannot use a servo because we need speed around 1000 to 2000 rpm to make the illution not the torque
a modified servo takes 60deg/.22seconds
which is very slow
im trying to use a stepper but im not able to get a stepper that can be operated at 1000rpm speed any IDEA about it
April 27, 2012 at 2:55 pm #7556AJISH ALFREDParticipantGoogle for ST31BI. It is a bipolar stepper motor, works on 5V, nominal speed upto 7500rpm. 620steps/second. Step angle 7.5deg
Also search for ST32UNI, a unipolar stepper motor with a speed upto 1000rpm.

but the problem is were to get them
im from Andhra predesh
tell me if you know any dealers near by hyderabad
May 3, 2012 at 6:31 pm #7583AJISH ALFREDParticipantU knw Krishna.. I’m from Kerala. Whenever I need some special components, I just leave to Bangalore with my friends. There is place like an ‘electronic street’ at “SP road” which is my favourite destination. I don’t know any specific dealers, but if you don’t get it from bangalore, I tell you that you can’t it anywhere else from India. You might know some better place than this, anyway..
Then you have only two options, either to change the plan or purchase the component online from the distributors, may be from other countries.
I’ve a suggession about your project..
Why don’t you keep the display vertical. In horizontal, it just remain in a single plane and you’ve only 2d sensation. But imagine if the display alone kept vertical and if it rotates, you will get a 3d display feeling.

thats wat im doing
im trying to make a wall clock
for that i need a proper IR sensor that works at fast switching as im trying to place the circutary on my table fan
in hyderabad a similar place is there called “gujarati galli”. i checked there
but not avilable

July 15, 2012 at 5:17 pm #8258D.V.G. KrishnaParticipanti made the same project using atmega8 this time i used a 3D image
soon i will upload them to my blog.
the 3D display is amazing
July 16, 2012 at 2:51 pm #8263AJISH ALFREDParticipantWell, Thats great. We are waiting for it. Keep up the good work.
July 30, 2012 at 8:19 am #8365yogParticipantpl. help.
i am making one project which is based on eddy current principle using at89c52 microcontroller.
my problem is display shows low battary continously and all system shut off.
August 1, 2012 at 4:41 pm #8380AJISH ALFREDParticipantHi Yog,
Please share more details about your project, so that we can help you.
Also please post your question as a seperate topic.
December 2, 2012 at 8:27 pm #8805kshitij soniParticipanthello Sir.. i had also made This type of stuff ……
