Use of HT12D and HT12E with RF module?
H12D is decoder while H12E is encoder. When the data is send via RF is in encoded form then it is decoded by decoder at receiver’s end.
these are 4 channel IR/RF tranciver ic’s. u can use it to build 4 channel IR/RF remote control. but this pair of ic’s is expensive .
The HT 12E Encoder ICs are series of CMOS LSIs for Remote Control system applications. They are capable of Encoding 12 bit of information which consists of N address bits and 12-N data bits. Each address/data input is externally trinary programmable if bonded out.
The basic RF module in market is four channels with 434Mhz
Yes absolutely HT12E and 12D are for RF but by simple changes at transmitter we may use for IR also.
In order to use a IR LED you need to change the encoder to the HT12A series,
On the decoder side keep to use the HT12D.
