Electronics › Electronics › Two way communication system
I'm in the first year of an electrical engineering degree. We were just given a lab project to build a two wire communication system using 4 LM386 Audio amplifiers over a twisted pair cable. We've been given no background. We have to find out ourselfs what to do. We did build a 20 gain amplifier for the first project but we had a pretty simple schematic to follow so that wasn't an issue. I've attached a picture of the circuit I have to build. My computer was giving me problems so . Now to be honest I don't know what I'm looking at. What does the 4ohm7 mean, how are these amps set up and how are they connected to each other? I just Google what twisted pair cables are and why we need them. I have a bread board and simple components like resistor, capacitors, wires and of course the amps. Can anyone give me any guidence.
Hi
It seems like your college wants you to make use of these 4 amplifiers to build a two way communication system, which means that these 4 amplifiers will be placed, two on each side, in order to amplify the signal when transmitted or received. This genreally happens in a two way communication system. So here is how you should proceed:
1. Set-up two audio amplifiers on each side of the two way communication system
2. Use twisted pair cable wire as the medium of communication
Also 4ohm7 means 4.7ohms, it is a short-hand form of mentioning resistor values.
