Is there a way for us to increase the range for the Distance measurement using InfraRed sensor with ADC0804 & 8051 microcontroller (AT89C51) project provided in your website. It would be very helpful if u can provide us with the PCB layout for the new circuit as well as the old one.

    Hi there

You would get optimum results only when the IR emitter is working under it's proper working conditions, like a proper voltage and current supply. So check out for the specifications of IR LED that you are using, you could get this in its datasheet. Then accordingly, decide the current limiting resistor value. These conditions would ensure that emitter works with recommended parameters and gives the maximium distance range possible.

    Hope this helps

    Good Luck :)

using IR sensor for distance measurement is improper way

use ultrasonic distance measurment (UDM) sensor instead
