i have sound sensor with the gain 100. I m planning to make the digital sound level meter with lcd which display the current sound level in dB. It is possible  to make using 89s52 and 0804 adc..

i m planning to convert the mic output voltage to the digital value using 0804 adc.. and passing it to the microcontroller and convert it to db..

that’s an interesting idea.. it is certainly possible. what is d sound sensor u re using?

the adc0804 output will be in certain range so u’ll have 2 incorporate the conversion parameter (for getting intensity in dB) in ur code.

its very interesting, it can be done by using wash walls algorithims(i don’t know the exct spell) it’s some algo related to dsp…
