serial control register of AT89C51

In serial control register of at89c51 the last two bits (SM0,SM1)determine the framing of data. In mode 1(SM0=0& SM1=1)data is framed as 1 start bit , 1 stop bit and 8 bit data.How the data is configured in other three modes.
