Im working on a home automation project in ordr to transfer and receive circuit which platform will be better RF or IR. On internet some say both can be interfere by other RF or IR signal so is ther any way to securely transmit the signal?

In market which Encoder and Decoder IC gives better performance

most of the RC toys uses HT12E& HT12D , PT2262E,PT2272E. At present is there any ICthat can out perform the above said IC.

    Help will be appreciated :)

in domestic use IR is prefreable. there are RC5 encoder decoder chips available. also you can decode RC5 codes using micro controller.
