    First,i need to thanks everybody in this forum because your differents topics has always been useful for me in one way or the other.
    I am student of Engineering and i have just be given a project to work on and the topic is How to control the speed of an AC fan through a remote control.And from what all of you has taught me al this forum so far,i can say i know the mechanism but i dont know how to go about with the code.i know i need to find a way of controlling the firing angle of the triac by having some delay after the triac.Please kindly enlighten me more on this.

    If you eed to control firing angle of TRIAC, you have 2 options.

     

    1. 555 as rectangle wave generator

    2. Use Timer for generating rectangle waves with variable duty cycle
