I wanted to make this project but I am not sure as to what is the rfid module? Also if it is readily available in the market how to check whether it is compatible withAT89C51(atmel 8051). I would be thankful for ur help

You can buy RFID modules which are readily available in market which will come with Serial interface.
All RFID modules with Serial output are compatible with 8051
