    Hi All

Im newbie to this forum and microcontroller. Im happy that I came across this forum. I have a question regarding serial communication through RS232. I was asked to write a assembly program to read a character through serial port and set the bits. Can some one explain what I have to do?? I’m not able to understand the concept behind this. Please guys!! awaiting for your replies :)

    With regards.

    Hi Shravan,

“I was asked to write a assembly program to read a character through serial port and set the bits“

Which bits you have to set, where??

The guy who told you to do this task should answer this question.
