problem with flash magic/interfacing DTMF 9170 with microcontroller

hi,

i m trying to interface DTMF 9170 with 8051 microcontroller..i m using flash magic version 2.40

whenevr  i start downloading hex file on to the MC,flash magic is giving this error..

“Failed to read the device signature.Unable to communicate(transmit/receive)”

 

I checked in “ISP->read device signature”,again it popped with same error.So reinstalled usb to uart drivers,even that didnt help.

plz let me know what is wrong.

which variant of 8051 you are using ?

Hi,

The problem is in the circuit which connecting the microcontroller with the serial cable. Are you using a development board? Please post the circuit if possible
