Electronics › Electronics › Photo Diode sensitivity
sir here i am using a photodiode of 5mm
here i want to get 4.5 to 5 volts as output
and i have designed a circuit of
+5v to negative of photodiode and other end is given to a 1K resistor and another end to GND
and i want the voltage drop across resistor as ~5 v.
when i inserted a leaser beam on PhotoDiode but I am not geting the output 5V
i think PhotoDiode has a sensitivity problem plz give me a idea of better Photodiode sensistivity
Hi Mallesh,
Normally you will get voltages around 3 to 4 volts only. Make sure that you are not using IR photodiodes. I’ve never tried with a laser beam but I think there can’t be any difference between sensing normal light and laser.
Please post your circuit diagram with the part number of the photodiode you are using.
output of the diode is amplified by the amplifier circuit using transister, and then you can get the required output from IRsensor
