Microcontroller › 8051 › optocoupler (i/p) interface with 8051
do i need an ADC for optocoupler before interfacing it with 8051 ?
what exactly you want to do.. please explain yourself…
what exactly you want to do.. please explain a bit more…
i need to display certain message on LCD using 8051 when the LED of my circuit glows . i need to isolate the circuit from 8051 using optocoupler . so , while connecting the optocoupler to 8051, do i need an ADC ?
no you dont need adc for that….. can you plese tell a brif description about the LED.. i mean when exactly the LED will glow or simple can you tell me how the LED is connected in that CKT or the current and voltage in that branch so that i can try to draw the ckt for that….
I am trying to control the ac input voltage using triac and optocoupler interfaced to microcontroller. I am generating pulses at one of the ports of the microcontroller which i want it to be used as input pulse to the optocoupler. is there anything i have to connect to before connecting it to the optocoupler ? i am using moc3041 optocoupler .
Hi Ananth,
In your case there is no need of an ADC, you can simply connect it to any of the digital pins of the microcontroller. All you need is to check the whether the output is there or not.
Hi Vignesh,
In your case you need an ADC between the optocoupler and microcontroller, since as far as I understand you have to read the value of the voltage at the output of the optocoupler to control the TRIAC accordingly.
hey did u get the interfacing technique for optocoupler. Because I am working on the same project now and I am facing the same problem. Can u please help me?
Hi Kavya,
What is your exact requirement ?
Optocoupler is something which provides isolation between input device and a controller pin. What you have to interface with controller? Please explain that so that we can answer properly.
