Obstacleedge detection robot

I am doing the "Obstacleedge detecting and avoiding vehicle" but
unable to understand that what is the specifications of the clock pulse that
i need to give in the JK flip flop….Can you just help me out???

 

And one more thing, there is a circuit diagram given with three 555 ICs. I cant understand about the diode specification and the connection of 5th pin of each ICs.

which circuit u r talking about?

i dont think u need JK flip flop for obstacle detection. it can be done with IR proximity circuit.
