    Hi all,

I’m trying to design a RPM counter meter using microcontroller. I’m using one timer in microcontroller as counter to count the pulses of sensor which is connected to the wheel and another timer to generate a one second delay. When i gave input to counter through 555 timer or DAC pulses i got the correct output, but when i gave input of motor rotations through sensor im getting a set of differrent values.

Please help me to fix this problem.

    Thanks in advance..

how do you get pulse from motor rotation?

    which sensor u r using?

what is MAX RPM of ur motor?

wht is the MAX RPM limit that u can measure?

the solution to ur problem is hidden in the answers of these questions

    Thank you for your reply @ A M Bhatt…

Im using Proximity sensor to get the pulses for rotation of the motor.

Maximum rpm of my motor is 1325.

But i didn’t get how to calculate the max. rpm i can measure. Please tell me how to calculate the max. rpm i can measure.

    Hi,

You can slowly keep on increasing pulses from 555 and see till what speed controller is giving perfect output…!!
