need help in final year project

i am making a project

a device that can

1 detect the level of oil using ultrasonic sensor

2 display the level on lcd

3 i want to interface gsm modem with 8051 microcontroller so that i can send message to modem whenever i want to know about the level of oil and in turn modem send message(the result displyed on lcd) to my mobile

i can deal with first two steps

can u help me in third one that is interfacing of gsm modem with 8051 to get the result ie. when i send the message to gsm modem it provide me the data which is already displayed on seven segment display and as i am dealing with multipe oil tanks so i want that the level of desired tank is send by modem
