    Hi ! gentlemen,

    A Very-Very Happy New Year 2017 to All the members/participants of Engineers garage All.

    Basically I am Civil Engineer Retd. from the Post of Asstt. Engineer, DDA (Delhi Development Authority), Delhi, India. 

    I Have much interest in electronics since long and a regular reader of a monthly magazine "Electronics For You" , since 1982, but due to time restraint during the job I was to discontinue my readings for last many years. by this readings as much knowledge of basic Electronics as i can, tried to get and have. Now i want to develop my knowledge in 'Moving Message Display Boards'. I shall be grateful if You may please help me in this regard by guiding me to accomplish my goal. Thanks.

        Which microcontroller you know (Arduino, PIC controller etc..) and are you good in c programming.

    I have soe knowledge of PIC controller but not the knowledge of 'C' Programming.

    Hi Sir,

    If you want to know in depth knowledge in making scrolling display or any projects using microcontroller it will be better to learn c programming. else if u want to just make the display you can get code from the net.
    PIC microcontroller board and LED matrix boards available in online websites where you can buy it.
    In PIC controller there are many family of IC’s available like PIC 16f877, 16f877a, 16f887. U can choose in which you are familier with.
    To to program the PIC you can use mikcro C or MPLAB which you know. If not you have to learn how to use it, there are many tutorials available on youtube.
