is mobile voice call used for data transmission below 1kbps

if i remove microphone of mobile and i connect ht12e encoder ic to mobile. and a decoder is connected to other mobilê in place of speaker. now i will make call is it possible that if i press data key on encoder and led will glow on decoder??
