Electronics › Electronics › Is An Operational Amplifier able to work in single as well as dual supply
Hello,
Foe example, an Opamp is working at ±2.5V, so is it able to work in single supply (0-5V). And an Opamp is working at +5V, so is it able to work in Dual supply (±2.5V).
Please Correct me if i am wrong.
Hi,
It is possible, but you won’t get a negative voltage output from an op-amp when it is working with a single voltage power supply.
Hello Ajish,
Thank You for your reply.
So if the manufacturer mension voltage for any one operation, i can able to make it to operate in another mode of operation by multiplying/dividing the voltage by 2.
Is it So?
Normally the op-amps ICs have a range voltage in which they can be operated. Could you please share more details about what you are trying to achieve and with which op-amp ?
Hello Ajish,
Voltage : +5V given in DataSheet and no word indicating the Dual Supply Operation. Shall i consider ±2.5V for Dual Supply Operation?
Voltage : ±5V given in Datasheet and no word indicating Single Supply Operation. Shall i consider 10V for Single Supply Operation?
Please Correct me?
