ParticipantHi Amitava Thakur,
First check whether your GSM modem is properly connected in Device Manager settings, if it is ok then configure the port settings as below. Alternate, try changing your serial cable.

Participanthi gaurav,
there could be “hot swap” problem with the device or pc comport. repeat the test on other PC and tell the status.

ParticipantHi Amitava,
Do the settings on the hyperterminal as suggested by Amrith. If you want to check the serial cable, just short pin 2 and pin 3 of the DB9 connector using any wire or metal. Type something on the hyperterminal and you should receive the same characters as you type.
Also note that all the AT commands ends with enter key press, except some which require ctrl+z. I know you won’t miss it out, but still you aren’t getting any response from the device means the device is damaged!

ParticipantHi Gaurav,
I had the same experience with the gps module. The number of satellites my module can see at those situations were 1 or even 0. Check how many satellites your module can see. Also learn how many require for the accurate data from gps module. Also make sure you place your gps antenna outdoor and not in any shade or somewhere.
You know when you turn on the module, it won’t be having any data with it. I believe its the poor coverage that makes your module causing a delay to get the values after switched on. It will still transmit to the serial port, but only the valid data which it do have at that time.

Participantthe problem may be what AJISH ALFRED said. you should keep the module outside where no obstacle will come in between satellite and your GPS module…
TRY KEEPING YOUR MODULE OUTSIDE…….
ALL THE BEST
