how to reduce voltage difference?

we had burn a prog in pic nd our intention is to make buzzer on whenever sensor provides an voltage of .5v or more….but our buzzer is gettin on only wen sensor provides voltage of .75v nd more…why it s not gettin on for reception of .5v??

pls provide some idea..
