Microcontroller › 8051 › how to interface about 272 leds to single 8051 chip ?
hello, guys i am thinking to make a digital clock using RTC in which each segment contains 66 leds and total 4 segments and extra 8 leds for dots ….. i wanna do this with at89c51 or ds89c410 but i dont know that how to interface these bulk of leds to single board and to glow them at a time ……. how to maintain current and voltage reqirements of all leds ?? since uptill now i had interfaced only 2 leds to 8051 ….so please help me tel me all alternatives to do that !! plzzzz suggest any resourses any idea ,,,,

I do not have any circuit diagram for this but I can tell you that you must use combination of counter shift registers (serial in parallel out)
