how to inter face microcontroller to gsm module without using AT commands & pc

can anyone explain how gsm module is interfaced with micro controller without using pc & AT Commands

you can interface gsm module without usig pc but for initilizing gsm and other operations you have to use GSM commands.(Interface keypad).

there is one way-you can store AT commands you needed in your controller and called them sequencially according to your function.

and wantto know that why you want to interface GSM module without GSM commands? What is use of it?
