    i have problem that my avr not comunicate with my programmer and it shows signature 0x000000 i am using usbasp programer with avrdude and i am also changed my controller with new one but problem still same.and i have learn about fuse bit and lock bit so please tell me anyone how to programm fuse bit and lock bit or you can say configuration of new microcontroller i have used many programmer avr serial  isp,  usbasp, serial programmer the pony prog says the prob test ok when i goes in interface setup menu but when i give any coommand read or write then says like this device not found -24 errorr and at verification some time says ok and some time says failed i have tested this also new virgin controller and i have also know that the bootloader can be programmed if these bits (fuse and lock)should in manner so please tell me how to configure new microcontroller which programmer sholud use the board can be made by me if any thing else then please provide board ckt diagram also.

    Hi Vijay,

    Have you pulled up the reset pin of AVR with a 47K resistor?

     I am  using readymade (made by compny thinnkware.com)board and programmer

    Do you have a operation manual of that board? For programming the board, are you exactly following the steps mentioned in the manual?

    Usbasp programmers normally have jumpers, and you need to connect the correct jumper for downloading the program. Check if you have set them properly as required, also check if there is any jumpers need to be set in your board also.
