My project is Distance measurement using Ir sensor.

    http://www.engineersgarage.com/microcontroller/8051projects/distance-measure-IR-ADC0804-AT89C51-circuit#tabset-tab-3

I simulated the ckt in proteus 7 professional.i coldnt simulate the working of ir transmitter n reciver in proeteus .so for testing of circuit i just connected a red wire as shown in figure.considering that voltage developed at ir transmitter is the same voltage at developed at ir reciver ,so lCD should display distance as maximum distance. But i didnt get any output .just the lcd glows.smae happened on hardware implementation.

    1)wat shud i do

    2)is connecting red wire correct?

    URgent help needed…….

both the ends +ve i/p and the ive i/p is connected to ground.. so there will be no potential difference b/w them and 0804 works on differential i/p…

and you can use animated LDR as a sensor part..

or fix -ver i/p to gnd and use a preset to vary the +ve i/p voltage…

for LCD check you code just try to print a simple letter A on LCD and check you ckt…

ir i think not a perfact use for distance,

i think ULTRA SONIC transducer is more preferable.

    Hi,

Pull up resistor will have 9 pins. You can see a white dot on one end. Connect that with Vcc and rest 8 pins are connected with the pins controller pins.

With P0, I am using 10k pull up and have not faced any issue in approx 30 projects done on 8051.

    All the best.

Could you please send the diagram of your circuit in proteus????

i am also doing a similar project, 'distance measurement using light'.
