my project is about digital clock using led display i had made each digit of 13 leds and total four plus two leds for second ,, i am using DS12887 RTC chip… and four 4-16 decoders,,, and each decoder is set for one digit of 13 leds… and i am well going till i get data from the rtc but i dont know how to display this value to the digit,,,

first i thought that i will glow the each decoder led with the interval in micro sec so it will looks like a digit but its true only if i have to glow perticular pattern permanently,,,but here the clock ticks and data changes so i have to update those pattern everytime and this requires definately great understanding of looping … later i thought that i will made patterns of hours from 1to12 and for minutes 0to59 but this whole pattern consumes large memory space than 8k i am using crystal of 24 mhz …… so please  please please suggest me any trick for doing this i cant change my design i have to do this by programming now….

Why are not trying on LCD..and making things complex by using LED’s. Check the coding for similar project given on the site…
