Good, but tell you something. Both are two entirely different field or industry. Let me make  it simple for you. A VLSI engineer thinks about how to design a new chip, on the other hand an embedde engineer thinks about how to design a new product using that chip.

 

I suggest you to concentrate on any single field.

Embedded Systems is used for application development, where as VLSI is related to semiconductor chip desining & maufacturing. Better study on both subjects and choose the right one.
