I’ve been doing a mini project in home lock and i ve gotta an basic idea to how to work with it.
My idea is that
we connect a touch switch to a lock in which the switch will be behind it and after everyone in the house leaves, then the switch will be activated.when an intruder tries to pick the lock , the touch switch will sense the person’s touch of the lock and it triggers an signal to a GSM SIM300 modem which will be fitted inside the door or anywhere near inside the door. this modem will be inserted with GSM SIM which willl be programmed with a few phone numbers and it will send a message to the phone numbers alerting the members of the house. alternatively., there will be an alarm nearby on the house outside which will receive the signal of the touch switch and it gets activated and goes off.
I started from scratch and i got to this till now.My problem is that how to connect the touch switch with the lock as the whole lock will act as a sensor and touching any part on it triggers an signal and then can u program the GSM SIM 300 with java programming language or do i want to depend on assembly languages?.
Also is there are any ideas or queries that i should consider and make this project?

Please refer the link

Since the lock it is a metal thing you can simply use the lock itself as a touch plate

Thanks for ur reply.
i get the info abt the touch switch.but how can i make the touch switch to be attached with the lock so that the whole component acts as a touch sensitive device. if an intruder touches his hand or key on the lock then the touch switch should transfer the signal to the SIM 300 modem. also do i have to keep an arduino board inbetween the touch switch and the modem so that the signal gets transferred to the modem correctly?

First you try to make a prototype and then think about how to install it in a real door or lock.
Take a wire out from the circuit where the touch pad is connected and then connect the wire to the metal lock.
Try to finish the touch circuit first and then start working on the Arduino. With in 2, 3 days we are uploading arduino projects based on SIM900 and you can find examples of the same under
EG LABS> MICROCONTROLLER > ARDUINO.
Suggest you to start with the touch switch circuit and proceed step by step
