hi. gaurage…………
A capacitor is in series with a 5V ac source. now during the +ve half cycle, the capacitor is charged upto max 5V. then the ac source is replaced with a dc source of -4V. then what will happen now in the capacitor??
Capacitor has a tendency to block DC, so DC will not have any effect over it.Capacitor just acts as an open circuit for DC source.
But in practical cases, since the capacitive reactance won’t be inifite, the capacitor will start discharging through load (if present).
