ParticipantAim: Make a Basic Small Size Video Recording Device that can Stored Video in a Memory CardBackground: I am a Computer Science & Engineering Student. Have basic knowledge of Electronics. Have teachers & friends who can help along the projects.Technical Specifications,Resolution: 1280 x 720 | 720p HD (High Defination)Aspect Ratio: 16:9Frames Per Second (FPS): 30Format (Extension): MP4 or AVISensor Size: 1/3"Lens Aperature: f/2.2Memory Card Support: microSD | Upto 8GB SupportUsage Duration: 1 HourForm Factor: MicroPower Source: BatteryNumber of Buttons: OneButton Function: Start/Stop RecordingDetails: As you can see from the above specifications, I want to make a standalone video recording device similar to that found on smartphones. I want to make a micro version of GoPro camera.Questions,1. What are the electronic modules that I have to use except the camera and storage card modules?2. What are the other components required?3. What are the skills required?4. Does the specificaiton of video recorded, independently depend on camera module?4.1. If yes, can I use any existing video recording device & swap its camera module?4.1.1. Will it record video according to the camera module's specification?5. Can smartphone camera modules be used?I know this question might sound stupid or dumb, but I really have passion for electronics. And I would really appreciate, if you will guide me to the right direction. Please reply soon!April 15, 2016 at 5:47 pm #13877Ashutosh Bhatt

you can make a project
n what u r talking about is final product
if you r having full assembly line factory to make mass production of such device then you can build this easily
otherwise you have to make a project
as per your application i suggest raspberry pi platform for video recording and play back

ParticipantI don't want to use a raspberry pie, for now. I want a simple design as small as possible without sacrificing quality & device safety. So what module do I need to build such a device? I have selected a camera module & a microSD storage module named OV7670 & catalex respectively. Of course I will need a 3.7v li-po battery. I am not think of commertializing it. Right now its just a project. BTW if want to make my device smaller than gopro camera & as small as spy camera as possible.

ParticipantIf record & store device will big or too complicated, I am open to wireless streaming to smartphone or computer via Wi-Fi. In that case I am thinking of using ESP8266 Serial WIFI Wireless Transceiver Module. In that case can anyone please tell me what modules to use excluding the camera module.
