How can i design a edge detector + obstacle avoidance bot with the help of AT89c51 (8051) micro.cont……….so please give me some idea about this……

use simple IR Transciver for obstacle detection .
IR transmiter transmit a IR signal in direction and it is recieved by the IR recieiver when it is
bounces back from a object…it can build using LM324 or 555 IC and easily interfaced by microcontroller.
for edge detection use sharp IR range finder module
