if your ADS1230 is having serial IIC interface then better to use micro controller with built in IIC interface like AVR or PIC. otherwise in 8051 you have to develop program to implement IIC interface. for that follow tutorials given on
EG labs / micro controller / 8051 / interfacing serial memory or interfacing RTC
