i want to drop down voltage from 230 voltage into 5 voltage without using transformer, only simple resistor and capacitor network.
can anybody give me answer for my question
Possible. Use a two resistor in potential divider manner.
Design the circuit in such a way that the values and power ratings of the resistors are with in the safelimilt.
Refer any basic electronic text book to get the equations for potential divider and use V^2/R to calculate the power consumption of each resistor, should not be more than 0.25 for standard quarter watt resistor.
Use a capacitor of about 100uF and 230V for safe use at the output of the potential divider circuit.
